COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drake’s winter offering is a deep orange monster that is loosely filtered to keep the integrity of the malt & hops intact. Equal amounts of American two row and English pale are combined with two types of Munich malt, and balanced with Chinook, Cascade & Amarillo hops. Enjoy the massive aroma and flavor of this beer. Available January - March.

Editor’s Note: Please observe the ABV and color of the label. This entry is for the 9.3% DIPA. Previous to 2016, the label had a white background. In 2016, the label is green.

Wonderful strong hop aroma. Intense hops that I haven’t found typical of DIPAs. Mouth feel was perfect.

CacheManyHose (724) - HONG KONG - JUN 6, 2017
Bottle from QC, drank w Matt before his trip for Ian’s and Alexis’ weddings. Pours a clear orange-copper, off-white head. Oily resin hop, perhaps a little unfresh (in that slightly flat sweetish way), malt, apple juice, some corn, lemony light spice. Boozy. Body is very oily, thick but smooth. Slick and very resinous.

HKdIPA (808) - HONG KONG - JUN 6, 2017
Bottle from QClub at home before trip. Translucent yellow copper pour with sticky lacing white head. Aroma is dank resin with apple juice maltiness. Taste is deep resin bitter and booze. A bit flat like it’s not been transported that well (but only bottled 3 months ago). With some heavy maltiness that subdues it all. Some lasting boozy bitter warmth. Straightforward resiny DIPA.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUN 6, 2017
Golden, lasting fresh lace. Big orange aroma, very fragrant, light floral, clementine, toast, honey... Loads of different aromas. And tastes too, very full, great full bodied bitterness, sweet balance, very satisfying. Yummy! A beer that really was worth celebrating my 6000th! (On tap at their Oakland taproom, with Nils chasing the pigeons and improving people with its cuteness)

22. Thanks so much, G! Pours a hazy medium golden amber with a nice sudsy whitish head that sticks around. Bright tangy pine nose, lots of residual sugars poking through. Creamy body on the high side of medium. Heavy toasted caramel sweetness up front, washing over into a very sharply dry grapefruity pine finish. Nicely done, but if the design were a subtler dynamic between bitter and sweet, this would be a true world-beater.

neongolden (1640) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2017
(On tap @ Bottlecraft Liberty Station, SD, April 1/17) Pours amber with a decent sized white head, nearly clear. Aroma of pale pit fruit, mixed citrus, pine resin, slightly floral and tropical, nice rich hops overwhelming the malt. The flavour is fairly fruit-forward - more peaches, orange, some tropical notes, a fair amount of pine and resin, pretty robust caramel malt core, somewhat sweet but kind of juicy, building up pine and floral resin notes in the finish to hit an above average level of bitterness, sticky, very slight alcohol. Medium-full body, average but fine carbonation. A little old school, malty West Coast in style but it’s well done and well-hopped. Solid.
