UPDATED: APR 17, 2015 4/16/15: the perfect dipa for me. Mango guava goodness,
Bomber poured into pint glass. This is a huge beer! Ginormous aroma that is slightly sweet and slightly aromatic. Dark orange, gorgeous looking beer, I wonder why more DIPA are not orange like this? Great taste that is bitter and sweet at the same time. Great citrusy flavors and a fantastic malt balance. It is a Hop Bomb for sure, but it is balanced for my palate. I might need to redrink and rerate this again, but as of now, I put this in my upper quadrant of all time favorite DIPA! Great beer Drakes! I had Hop Salad from them a long time ago and wonder if this is the next recreation of that? dhunter151 (590) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Pours clear amber with very little head. Awesome hop aroma. Tastes of grapefruit and grass. Very well balanced. Hop forward beer.

Wonderful strong hop aroma. Intense hops that I haven’t found typical of DIPAs. Mouth feel was perfect. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Bottle from trader Joe’s. Aromas of caramel, mango. Taste is sweet and bitter, great balance. grunx (367) - - OCT 18, 2011
Maridada amb un llobarro amb espàrrecs i citrics. Perfecte. Tant pel maridatge, com per la cervesa. Llupoladament amarga i llarga i refrescant. I un punt de textura cremosa que li dóna l’alchol molt ben integrat. Molt bona. S’haurà de repetir.

pours dark orange with a two finger pillowy head. Tons of citrus and pine aroma, with hints of lemon, grass and slight grapefruit. Very smooth taste, bitter hop finish, but lots of peach, citrus and grapefruit in the middle. It hides the 9.3% very well. Amazing beer, I’m very impressed. thetmaxx (917) - West Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 10, 2012
Poured into a shaker glass, this is the first time I’ve noticed dipa should be in a Tulip glass. Oh well, pours slightly cloudy. Light head and lacing. Aroma is great! Citrus, tropical, maybe peaches as I heard in other ratings. Flavour is similar. Palate is thick, but not as sticky as o others. Very tasty and the alcohol is not noticed at all, very dangerous! eros47 (53) - Huntington Park, California, USA - MAR 7, 2013
WOW. This brew is an assault on the taste buds, in a good way. The aromas are green apple, mango, grapefruit, and peach. The taste follows through with the smell. GREAT brew. el_guapo (28) - California, USA - JUN 19, 2013
So good. Bottle from local shop. Awesome pine and citrus aroma. No break in the hop flavor. Really good dipa, going to buy more again, no question. SDalkoholic (2408) - Linda Vista, California, USA - OCT 24, 2013
Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared a golden liquid with a slight bit of sediment haze while a foamy layer of head eventually broke down. Aroma is all hops along with a fruity smell that reminds me of the produce section of a grocery store or walking into a fruteria. The flavor is strong dosage of bitter hops that aren’t as overpowering as most other Imperial IPA’s aim for but instead has a moderate of citrus and pine like hops that have been rounded out perfectly with the malt, water and yeast used. Although this is not my favorite double IPA, I will have to admit that Hopocalypse is one of the smoothest drinking impy IPA’s I’ve tasted considering their high IBU’S and ABV.
