From the bomber it pours a honey amber color with a big head. The aroma has pineapple, mango with some lemon zest. Taste is big with more tropical fruit with some chewy malt that comes through to balance everything out. Big beer.

Bottle shipped across the country by misterburd -- cheers, Michael! At 12.5%, this beer doesnt mess around. There is a lot of malt in there, although its surprisingly dry, and a ton of hops to balance everything out. Its actually pretty balanced and the alcohol is noticeable but not overpowering. I caught a pretty pronounced bready yeast aroma that was out of place and somewhat killed the hoppy taste for me.

Clear golden with a short lived white head.. perfumy apricot and tropical fruitiness .. nice bitterness.. thick, sweet and borderline cloying.. Certainly a bit boozy.. IMO, too sweet... without that much sweetness the hops would bounce out on the nose and palate quite a bit more. Not bad, but not just for my palate.

Draft at City Beer. Pours a clear gold with a small white head that settles into a ring and leaves some spotty lace in the glass. Notes of caramel malts, pine, pineapple, tropical fruits up front and middle, citrus peel, spice, and some paint thinner on the back of the tongue in the aftertaste. Its not rough but over time has a subtle numbing effect on the palate. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a boozy, sweet mouthfeel. Fun, interesting beer.

[1/30/16] Draught at Sprengers Tap Room in Santa Rosa. Clear deep golden. Great piney and tropical fruity hops aroma. Flavor has some malt sweetness, fruity and piney hops, strong bitterness, and some alcohol. Medium-bodied, kinda oily. Good but quite boozy and heavy.

Keg at City Beer, SF, first rake of the epic week that was RB best / RBWG 16, 28/01/16. Rich amber with a well appointed off white cap. Nose is caramel malt, pine, grapefruit, citric zest, toasted bread. Taste comprises orange pith, straw, caramel, booze tunes, candied fruit peel, bubblegum, pine resin. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Decent DIPA, carries off the booze well.
