Tasted at the 6th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on 11/12/2011. This wild ale pours a dark black color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, chocolate, coffee, wood, and dark fruit. A medium to full bodied wild ale. The malts are chocolate and coffee, dark fruit and blackberries. The hops are herbal and earthy. There is a touch of tartness throughout, mostly at the finish. Nice blend. A little bit sweet perhaps. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. On tap at the Bistro -Bal Aged Fest. Very dark brown in color with some tan swirls on top. Roasty aroma with blackberries, brett, port, and oak. Rather roasty flavor with just a hint of wild yeast. Blackberries and other fruits, chocolate, and port. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation and mild acidity. Tap at the Bistro BA fest. Pours dark brown/black. Lots of bourbon/vanilla aroma. Near full bodied. Flavor is fairly bretty over dark fruit and smooth burnt malt. Excellent fruit sour finish.
