22 oz. bottle. vintage 2012 purchased at the Brewery and carried home. Color shows a ruby/ copper color without head. Aroma is real nice. Dark fruits, raisins, dates upfront with a hop pine and herbal ness. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - SEP 13, 2014
I never sampled this fresh but the flavor here is really well refined. Like the aroma the dark fruit and toffee caramel is upfront and foremost but it still has a real nice pine bitterness to help balance the sweetness. Extremely well balanced and the alcohol warmth is only found in the way of warming. Damn, another smash hit from Drakes!
Pours a dark caramel-sauce color producing a creamy looking slightly tanned head. Aroma of grains, caramel and piney and resinous hops. Taste is malty with loads of caramel flavor, light toast, faint chocolate notes, dried fruit and a well rounded resinous bitterness. Pretty nice. Some warming alcohol into the aftertaste. Full bodied and just above softly carbonated.

Bomber bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours clear deep amber with a rather big frothy goldenish offwhite head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet and slightly malty with heavy caramel, resinous wood, toffee, alcohol, grapefruit rinds, sweet dark bread, pine needles and orange zest. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and earthy with heavy caramel, toffee, resinous wood, grapefruit rinds, moist tobacco, pine needles, alcohol, minerals and orange zest. Mouthfeel is round, sticky, viscous and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and earthy with caramel, toffee, resinous wood, alcohol, grapefruit rinds, pine needles and orange zest. Exactly what I expected it to and hoped it to be: A caramel and resin punch in the face!
