Poured from the bomber. Aroma is hoppy. Almost like a wet hop beer, there is grassy hop notes. Flavor is of dark fruits, prunes. Nice redish colour nice head with light lacing. I love this! The aroma is amazing! Braudog (6717) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Thanks Chris and Meredith! Bottle. The aroma escapes the instant I break the cap’s seal -- rich with warming sugar and a sense of home. It carries almost 2 feet from the goblet! The beer is deep brown, like stained oak furniture. The head is firm and stoic. The beer drinks with an amazing balance, rich with baked brown sugar and warming ethanol, laced with some pine and citric acidity. Remarkably easy to drink for its depth and strength. Amazing stuff.
Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 9, 2013
22oz bomber pours with a clear deep ruby red body supporting a nice looking half inch tall tan head of foam that leaves behind some decent lacing. The aroma offers up a great mix of cherry and prune and pine hop infused molasses as well as a yum inducing dank hoppiness and then a bit of booze at the end of the draw. The taste begins with a nice resiny bitter hoppiness that is woven together with dank, spicy, pine and a bit of citrus hoppy goodness. This is nice and resiny and still full of hop flavor. Behind the hops are modest notes of sweet malts, prunes and a hint of molasses covered dates. Dandy barleywine! beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - JUN 3, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2016 Pours a red amber color with thick off white head. Malt, caramel and pine aromas. Malt, caramel, hops and pine taste with a slightly bitter caramel finish. Spectacular is the word that comes to mind. 4 years of aging makes it super boozy.

Pours a rich amber with thick foamy tan head. Smells of hops, malts, pine, alcohol, and dried fruit. Tastes of hops, bitter, caramelized malts, and alcohol. Has a creamy and thick mouth feel and light carbonation. alex_leit (4120) - Minsk, BELARUS - JAN 17, 2016

Flavors of carmel, peach, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a smooth lingering earthy finish. Benzai (15619) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 13, 2013
Bottle @ "Press Deans button tasting". Clear dark amber to reddish color, small beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, nicely hoppy and a bit sweet. Taste malts, hops, lightly alcohol, some sweetness. Really nice, love this one. Full body, long lingering bitter alcoholic finish, medium body. Very nice! Thoor84 (67) - ICELAND - OCT 12, 2013
looks beautiful, amber with nice head. Aroma is resiny hoppy, malty, caramel. Taste is similar, nice balance, typical US barleywine with big hop profile and bitterness yet very well balance by a complex and smooth malt profile. Not alcohol noticable, - very underrated imo.
