Tasted at the Triple Rock Sour and Barrel Aged Fest on 2/10/2013. This Imperial Stout pours a dark brown black color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee, with some bourbon and wood. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. A touch of smoke, dark fruit, and some vanilla to go with the coffee and chocolate. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth, Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap at the Barrel House. Pours with a near black body with a small tan head that lasts. Aromas are lightly fruity, vinous with a light sour note. Some chocolate and roast with hints of vanilla, barrel, ashtray, tobacco and plastic. Flavors are acetic, a bit harsh, vanilla, rich, vanillin, vinous, black and blue berries, light roast tobacco. Medium to medium light carbonation. Light bodied. Rich malt character but acetic in the finish. Their acetobacter is barely kept in check here for what is suppose to be a clean BA RIS. marcus (10866) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 30, 2011
