On tap at the brewery. Pours deep amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of tartness/sourness, some pale and caramel malts, light oak and brandy, some spices, and light vanilla. Flavor the same with a cool blend. Average texture. A solid beer.

On draft at Drakes. This one pours a golden orange color with a white head. The aroma is bursting with tart stone fruits, strong and well integrated barrel notes and fruity alcohol. The flavor is peachy, lemon, tangerines with a hint of butterscotch and wood. Very fruity and tasty. I liked this one.

Taster at the barrel house. Hazy golden orange, little foam. Aroma is tart, oaky. Palate is dry. Flavor is more of the oaky white wine character, but there is a hint of grape or muscat in there too. This is interesting but it tastes young, to borrow a phrase from the wine tasters.

marcus (10473) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 23, 2013
On tap at The Trappist. Poura reddish copper with a modest off-white head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a very sour white wine and caramel malt flavor with a hint of honey. Very complex.

Tap. Pours hazy amber with a small off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is very woody, with light lemon tart notes, white wine, and a touch of brandy. Enticing. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, lightly bitter, only a bit of astringence despite the woody notes. Lightly tart and fruity with white grape notes prominent. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. I really enjoyed this one, and felt that it was reminiscent of a younger, harsher Supplication. Perhaps not as refined, but really nicely crafted.
