Clear, bright light orange with golden highlights. Quickly and fully diminishing head, spotty lacing. The body is a very lovely shade and looks very drinkable. Aroma is awesome ripe fresh fruit, melons and oranges and many tree fruits in between. Very tropical and lively. Malt in the aroma is plentiful and denotes an eastern European origin. Buttery toffee and cotton candy are noticeable. Flavor is delightful, a very nice balance and bready and fruity malts, lightly bitter and very easy to enjoy. Yeast character that was barely noticeable in the aroma is bountiful and fresh in the flavor. Alcohol is marvelously masked. This really does taste like a doubled-up Kölsch recipe. Finishes balanced and fruity. Palate is very smooth and never too sticky. Very well done. bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 17, 2007
Draft, Amber beer with no head. Toffee/malt aroma and flavor. Some yeast and fruity/estery flavors as well. Lingering toffee/yeast/fruit. Medium body. Just didn’t stand out enough for me.
