COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Subverting dominant Barley Grain privilege, Drake’s Occu-Rye demands equal status for long oppressed Rye grain. Further, we have ended the patriarchal dominance of Craft Brewers who insist on hiding Rye’s light under a bushel (of hops) by presenting a beer brewed with an eye-watering amount of Rye. Barley Dominance Must Die! Hella Hella Occu-Rye!

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Malt aroma. Malt and darker malt flavor with earth and light spice. Medium bodied. Malt and light darker malts linger with earthiness and light backing hops.

Tap; my last taster of the day. Perhaps I should have started with this one, but after the rest; meh. Pours clear amber with a small white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma is grainy with notes of spicy rye, caramel and hay. Flavor is the same, mildly sweet, mildly bitter, light bodied.

Tap @ Porky’s - San Leandro: Clear amber color with nice white head and spotty lacing. Pleasant sweet aroma of sugar and malts. Tangy malt flavor with a multi-grain breakfast cereal aftertaste. For the style, well done.

On tap at the Barrel House. It pours a nice clear golden orange with a good off white head. The aroma has some fruity hops with mildly toasted malt. The flavor is bready/toasty and spicy with a decent piney, woody hop presence. Not too bitter and light bodied. A nice mild rye beer.

On tap. Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Sweet caramel citrus a rye bread aroma and taste with a toasted bread finish. Not bad.

On tap at Drakes Barrel Room poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of rye, earthiness, carmel and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, earthiness and carmel with a smooth dry lingering rye finish.
