Tap. Poured clear golden color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate citrus complex hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet citrus flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 31, 2015
4oz on tap at Hopgeist. Hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Ropes and ridges, good sheets of lace. Good biscuity malt. Good citrusy hop, mild peppery. Some biscuity malt. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Tasty DIPA. Decent bit of mild cake-like malt character. jazz88 (2684) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Tap @ The Bistro’s 2010 10th Annual Double IPA Festival. A golden color with a malty and big hop flavor, well balanced without a heavy hop aroma. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 16, 2011
A: The beer pours amber in color with a finger of off-white head but a very impressive amount of lacing on the glass.
S: Incredibly sweet on the nose. Lots of caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. I get a decent amount of grapefruit and orange peel, along with some sweet orange flesh. Maybe a bit of tropical fruit.
T: Big brown sugar, toffee, and caramel presence on the palate. There’s even a bit of chocolate in there. A mild tropical fruit hop flavor and some grapefruit, though it seems sort of candied, which fits in with the sweet motif.
M: The body is pretty full and heavy for an IPA. The carbonation is moderate to high.
D: Way too sweet for how I like my DIPAs. More barleywine-like than anything.

Pours golden orange with a large creamy off white head. The aroma is more malt forward than most other Drakes offerings. Sweet caramel and little toffee with orange, peach, and grapefruity hops. The flavor is well balanced with sweet fruity flavors; some peach, orange, grapefruit, and melon rind with a nice bitter finish.

Draught at Rose and Crown during Drakes Night. Amber-orange with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with floral and citrus character, and a touch of sweet bread. Medium candy sweetness with lots of orange and grapefruit flavors. Pretty modest bitterness in comparison to the malt, with hop emphasis much more on flavor than bitterness. Medium bodied and quite drinkable for style. Nice hop-candy-like beer, though some more bitterness wold have been welcome. yespr (48895) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 16, 2010
From tap at Bistro, Hayward. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is smooth fruity and hoppy. Smooth fruity and nice hoppy flavoured. Dry yet note overly so. Smooth, light malty and nicely fruity into the finish.
