From a tap at drakes. The pour has a strong butterscotch aroma with a brownish red appearence.I taste mostly butterscotch, alcohol , and clove. The texture is sticky. ansermadide (1526) - Kyle, Texas, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Apparently there were quite a number of pretty awesome barrels used in this, bourbon and sherry among those. Medium to dark brown in color with an off-white/light-brown head. It has a gorgeous, soft nose and an aroma is of a beautiful, strong mix of sherry and bourbon. It’s much like a barleywine mixed with some imperial stout, partly because of its malt character, but also I think because an imperial stout is usually the style most associated with bourbon barrel conditioning. This is always a great idea... I love me a barrel-aged barleywine! It’s very smooth in the mouth, with a flavor that’s almost like candied fruit with some soft plum and some other sort of red, juicy pit fruit representing. Gorgeous and smooth, alcohol is present in the flavor, but not overwhelming. What a great job! Very classy, very mature, very respectable.
