Pours dark caramel brown with no head. Nose is tart cherries and funk. Flavor has lots of caramel and malt, with tartness and fruit. Full mouthfeel.
Draft. Amber-brown beer with a tan head. Brandy and rich malt aroma. Sour notes and malt flavor with brandy. Medium bodied. Rich malt lingers with brandy, sour notes and light fruitiness. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 31, 2012
On draft at the Barrel House. It pours cloudy amber/orange with an orangy head. The aroma is buttery toffee with some caramel, berries, and light hints of citrus. The flavor is very full with toffee, wood, citrus and some mild, sharp vinegar notes before a sweeter, caramel, mildly funky finish. Think of this as a sour rather than a barleywine and its pretty weird but good.
