Another REALLY nice sour blonde from Drake’s, this one made with honey wheat instead of the hefe, and multiple barrels. Very complex, but still aproachable. Medium to heavy sour acidity tempered by the oak and flavors. Good stuff bytemesis (9024) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 10, 2014
Tap. Pours hazy golden, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is pleasant oak, brett, vinous, barnyard. Flavor has initial sweetness, light tartness follows, a bit of funk to round things out. A bit of acetone initially fades as it breathes. Light body, lingering tartness. Fairly simple. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - JUL 4, 2014
On tap at the Barrel House. It pours a golden orange color with a small white head. The aroma is nice and peachy with more stone fruit sourness and not much funk. Very little notes of white vinegar. The flavor is more funky and fuller bodied than expected with sweet and sour peaches and nectarines. A little alcohol at the end, but not as bad as others I’ve had. Pretty decent. marcus (10584) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 21, 2014
On tap at Drakes Barrel House. Pours blonde with a thick white head and a wheat and wine aroma. There is a light malt flavor with a hint of white wine.
