2/24/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Clear amber pour with a small khaki head. Slight buttery aroma with a touch of light hoppiness and caramel. Sweet caramel entry with a touch of butterscotch. Meh. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 4, 2011
(Draught) cloudy deep amber with excellent lacing and a thick creamy tan head. Nose of caramel, quite hoppy, honey, a bit of cirtus and florals. Taste of caramel, orange peel, sweet bread, just the right amount of hops to make it delicious, toasty, and a very creamy body. Nice amber! Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - OCT 26, 2011
On tap at the Draught House 43rd Anniversary Party.
Not surprisingly, the beer pours an amber color with a tan head. The aroma is full of toffee and caramel, with some nice pine and orange citrus notes from the hops.
The flavor is also very hoppy for an amber ale. I get a lot of pine and citrus notes with some biscuit malt. There is also some toasted malt notes and some sweetness from the malt. Even with all of the hop flavor, the bitterness is very low.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
I had avoided this beer previously because I am not much of a fan of amber ales, but this one didn’t disappoint.

Looks like a black and tan with the light reflecting off if it in the bar. Dense and thick tan head. Huge floral hop nose. Tastes delicious just like a very strong ipa. As the drink wears on it give way to a maltier character. Full bodied for sure. Intriczte and heavy lacing. Finish leaves a pleasant bite and a smooth coating. Drink this if you are hungry. Pours a reddish brown color with an off white bubbly canvas head. Heavy floral and fruity notes. Lillys, raspberries, burnt toast and strawberry preserves. Not bad decent mouthfeel. Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 17, 2005
DewBrewer and I must’ve been drinking different beers...pour is reddish amber with a big dense tan head...the smell was sweet with a nice citrus hoppiness to it...taste is sweet initially, turning mouth souring astringent chemical...slightly bitter...I don’t know if maybe they hooked up a new keg to a different line and the line had some chemicals in it still (impossible though it may be) or what, but I just think something was wrong... slimchill (1044) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 23, 2008
Draught. Nose is sweet grains with a strong cherry presence. Bright red. Fruit up front into a lightly hoppy middle wth a sweet finish hinting at raspberries. Palate is dry and a touch sharp.
