(Review from 27 Oct 2012.) Cloudy, yellowish color with light orange hues... really, this has more of a pale yellow color with a thin, bright white head. Strong of citrus rind, but fresh and clean, and almost green in the nose, this is completely dominated by grapefruit. Regardless of the high citrus levels, this is still a hop-head’s delight and hops rule the beer. Very clean and refreshing. Man... this beer has an awesome aroma that’s deserving of a high review. In the mouth, wow. There’s a strong citrus character that is potent of rind, delivering a sharp, dusty wax-like character that travels up your sinuses. It really tastes (and smells) like you’re scratching on a fresh grapefruit rind with your teeth. That effect, atop a very smooth and crisp, very well-hopped beer using some very soft variety hops... man, it’s a really gorgeous beer. It’s soft but very powerful, well-balanced, and on all accounts awesome. Out of the ballpark! GODiSSOUTHERN (390) - Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Nice IPA. In addition to the grapefruit flavors which were not overwhelming, there are some piney notes and medium dry finish. fly (1486) - austin, Tejas, Texas, USA - OCT 30, 2012
Nice collaboration. Josh mentioned that this had a hefty amount of grapefruit added (concentrate?). Good stuff, only had the single pint, but that was because I was trying to be nice (a rare moment) and let others sample it. Could easily have made it my sesion beer of the day and just gone one and on drinking it. YUM! kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Cloudy yellow color. Lacy white head. Distinctive grapefruit aroma that’s bright, citrusy and refreshing. The flavor is full IPA floral and hoppy with a bitter citrus grapefruit finish. Delicious! Summit hops or real grapefruit? Either way this is a bitchin’ brew.
