Tasted in 2009 (backlog). Amber in color with an average off-white head. Aroma is of smoke, caramel, leather and grain. Taste is smokey with a pleasant maltiness, fairly dry. phaleslu (10899) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Draft at Draught House, served in a pint glass. Pours a pale yellow with a little cloudiness and a small white head that settles into a ring. The aroma hints at very little smoke, with bready malts, lemon citrus, lighter funk, and a little earth. The flavor initially gives off no smoke, hitting lemon citrus, bready funk, dough, and caramel. Then it gives way to smoke in the aftertaste, which gives it a sort of chemical transition. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation. They’d be better off removing the smoked malts because the saison here works. hopeye101 (45) - Draughthouse, Texas, USA - DEC 6, 2012
This beer really works. The light smokiness blends surprisingly well with the peppery saison yeast.
Good 1 finger persistent head cloudy golden color.
Floral hoppy aroma complimented by woody smoke
Flavor is some maltiness medium bitterness smoke on the back of the palate.
Light crisp refreshing mouthfeel.
Overall an outstanding beer. A very creative style.

Draft... Cloudy straw-colored ale with a large, pillowy, white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma provides spicy farmhouse phenols, light acidity and pale grains accompanied by a touch of smoke. Medium-bodied with jazzy carbonation. The farmhouse flavor is grainy and presents the usual suspects – clove, banana, pear - and a rumor of smoke. Finishes crisp & lightly bitter with a gentle kiss of smoked malt. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 18, 2012
This is an atypical combination of styles but it just happens to be quite refreshing on this fall afternoon. Its very cloudy and a lemony yellow color without any foam. The aroma is mosly wild yeast with some mustiness and grass. The flavor is more of the.same with only a light smokiness that comes up mainly in the finish. The palate is a little tart in a good way. For such a lively beer it leaves you a bit heavy but all around I give it the thumbs up.

Growler thanks to angrypirate06. The color of the beer is amber and it has a decent off white head. The smell is smoke, yeast, spiced, and decent. The taste is hops, smoke, floral, and good. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - DEC 31, 2009
( Growler, courtesy of angrypirate06 ) Pours a clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma of mostly smoke with some herbs, grass, and grilled meat. Flavor of smoke, light herbs, and subtle grass.
