Appearance: Black no head.
Aroma: Liquorice, fruity and a slight chocolate note.
Taste: Low sweet and sourness with medium bitterness.
Palate: Thick smooth texture, light body, no carbonation, abrupt burnt/roast malt finish.
Comments: Quite bland overall. chriso (7586) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2013
568ml bottle, purchased at Ely Winter Beer festival 2013, best before 30 November 2013, at tasting on 20 January 2013. A decent enough dark porter at a modest abv. Near black with beige head and good carbonation level - lively but not too fizzy. Quite roasty. Bit of pooh on the nose. Clearly not a "big" porter given the abv but plenty to it for the low strength.

Bottle 568ml. @ ChrisO Snow Tasting.
Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet malt, light burnt. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, roasted, thin. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is caramel, coffee grinds, roasted malt, faint meat and vinegar. The taste is dark fruit, wood, leather, earth, faint tartness and vinegar with a dry finish. Thin-medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite bland indeed and not loving those light vinegar notes…. mR_fr0g (13158) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2013

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London. Pours clear brown with a light, bubbly beige foam head. Dusty toast aroma. Light sweet flavor, some charred beef, light roast, bland dark malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bland finish, faint roasted malts, light sweetness. Kind of bland in general, I suppose. harrisoni (19165) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2013
