PunkBunny (76) - Benoni, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 19, 2017
Pours hazy amber, low to very low carbonation, head disappears quickly, leaving slight lacing. Aroma: pine, citrus, resin, all very low hops aromas, light caramel, bread. Taste: pine notes with cara type malts seems to be the main perceptions, bit of grapefruit/citrus. Pallete: bit of astringency in the bitterness, sharp, most likely because it’s a 4% beer, low mouthfeel. Overall: not an IPA, more of a standard English pale ale or best bitter with an American cross over. Carbaonation needs to be higher. Head retention is an issue. 1lt pet bottle. As all Draymans offerings: plastic bottle 100 cl. Pours slightly cloudy, light amber with a good white head. Head diminishes quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma is slight: fresh citrusy and light malt. Good malty flovour with a distinct touch of resinous hops. Dry and lightly hoppy finish. It may not be a true IPA (too low on hops) but a very decent brew all the same. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 24, 2008
(Plastic bottle 100 cl) Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a dense, off-white head leaving some lacework. Discreet but fresh citrus aroma. Medium in body with fairly solid and sweet - almost candy-like - malts. Lightly hoppy finish. Decent. Hard to believe that this is only 4% ABV as Draymans claims for all their beers. 100508
