The aroma is light, a little bourbon some vanilla. Pours a dark brown with dark tan head mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The taste is a medium bitter. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy, the carbonation soft and the finish bitter and long. Very Good! Smooth body, great taste and bitterness is well balanced.

Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, vanilla, cocoa, earthiness and coffee. Taste is heavy, sweet and syrupy with loads of roastiness, vanilla, toffee, coffee, licorice, cocoa and chocolate, hints of bourbon. Finish is sweet, heavy and roasty with loads of coffee, cocoa, vanilla and chocolate, hints of bourbon. Sweet and heavy, quite complex. Alcohol is well hidden.

(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20171103) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, whisky, vineousness and vanilla. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vineousness, whisky, wood, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, burnt and bitter. A well done barrel aged brew.

From the 650 ml. bottle with a bottling date of 6/28/17. Serving about 40 degrees. Near jet black pour with a modest, tan head that fades. Big roasted malt aroma with dark fruits akin to plums or raisin. Slightly burnt or smoky sensation. It is 13% but the booze aromas are not as pungent as I expected. The body is full with a heavy texture. The taste has a bold sweetness with an alcohol burn that is more notable in the flavor than on the nose. A real slow sipper.

Aroma is lots of booze, barrel presence, taste is very smooth, vanilla is definitely present, burnt notes from the barrel, very good.

Verision 4.0. Pitch black, thick pour, big fluffy tan head, some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon-like vanilla and wood. Very smooth and creamy to the lips, well balanced between sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate fudge, bourbon, wood. Lingering flavours, booze just appears in the end. Thick body, sticky, smooth, low carbonation and long finish. Great ale.

Pours a dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma of malt, whiskey, and pecans. Taste is slightly sweet, notes of rich malts, wood, and whiskey. Drinks smooth, and is a very unique and solid stout. Thumbs up.
