Pours a black-brown from a bottle. Interesting molasses/pecan/rye bread aroma, similar flavor, rather sweet. Pretty good beer.

Pours jet black with a tan head with an aroma of malt and cocoa. Tastes of deep, rich, viscous chocolate, malt, cocoa with very mild bitterness of bourbon and booze. The finish is nutty coffee. It's silky and sticky and clearly full bodied with moderate carbonation. It starts slightly sweet and finishes dry with a hint of astringency. It's complex, somewhat unique, warming and very good.

Faux painted bomber, oily black pour, not much head. Pruney, vinous, menacing aroma. Sweet, viscous, boozy, very fruity, some leather, faint astringency, warming. Heavy body, satin mouthfeel, ABV burn in the finish. Market Square Liquors.

Whisky, semisweet cocoa, sugar daddy aroma - but the whiskey is cheap. (The next day, when I’m putting in my rating, the aroma reminds me of dark cooking rice wine) Burnt 10w-40 appearance with a small ringing tan head. Bitter cocoa, woody, alcohol bittering, warming, lots of molasses. Big beer, but I didn’t love it. On tap, Proof, Tallahassee.

2017 version taster at Taphouse. Inky black pour, sweet and boozy aroma. Taste is a melange of flavors, chocolate , coffee, brown sugar, licorice. Lighter mouth feel, heavier taste. A bit of burn on the palate. Nice!

2013 vintage. Robust, sweet, sticky and warm. Black body with tiny skin of a beige head. Aroma is roast grain and nuts and enough alcohol to send the nose twitching. Taste comes on strong, with plenty of alcohol warmth. Best sipped, allowing it to warm, and the flavors to emerge.

A good stout with subtle coffee flavors, smooth, dark chocolate, and light currents. Light head, smooth palette, the chocolate lingers in the mouth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at New Bohemia. Dark black pour. Aroma is whiskey, wood, roasted malts. Taste is boozy up front, some nuttiness, dryness. This is really good.
