Clear dark black brown color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration, buzzy, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, wood - chocolate - alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. 
From cask. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is liqourice, roasted malty and light chocolate. Fruity, yeasty, light spiced and phenolic. Dark roasted caramelish and somewhat bitter.

Draft @ GABF 2013. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty woody chocolate aroma. Roasted malty woody chocolate flavor with weak nutty hints. Has a roasted malty woody chocolate and caramel finish.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque black - brown beer. Good tan head. Oatmeal and dark chocolate on the nose. Palate is soft and viscous with fine carbonation. Mild dark chocolate, mellow coffee. Trace of bourbon and spice. Light dry finish with a good coffee bourbon bitter linger.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Pours black-brown with a froth beige head. Sugary dark malt nose, some milk chocolate, grapes. Big sweet flavor with lots of gummy grapes and raspberries, some sugary chocolate, a bit of earthy bitterness and alcohol bite. Full bodied with fine carbonation. A good bit of harsh alcohol on the finish, bitter chocolate, grapes and other ripe, dark fruits, chocolate cake, earth. Pretty ballsy stuff. Mid black with a thin tan head.
Nose is roast malt, bitter cocoa, marzipan, light booze, dark malts.
Taste comprises roasty malts, bitter chocolate, earthy, leather, dark berry fruits, touch of booze.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light alcoholic burn in the finale with a dry roasty finish.
Solid enough but not a heavy hitter in this venerable style for me.
