really impressed with this one really great smell of choc. and pretty much exactly what you would expect a porter to taste like nice dark color with a great white slightly brown head and taste a bitter sweet rich smooth taste that stays and gets better hell fucking yea driftwood
this is quite a decent malty roasty porter. Also has some nice subtle chocolate taste. Fred82 (2331) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - APR 2, 2017
Bomber. Pours black small head. Nose coffee and roasted malts. Taste coffee and roasted malts. Finish coffee and roasted malt. Palate a bit thin. Good but not very complex. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - FEB 18, 2017
This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with no head or lace.
The aroma had some rugged dark to bitter chocolate malts with a nice roasty balance.
The flavor lends a hand to the roasty side and then the bitterness of the chocolate nibs end up blending nicely. Robust smooth bitter chocolatey aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt nicely.
Overall, really easy going Porter well worthy of having again. colui72 (1070) - HONG KONG - FEB 6, 2017
This is a typical orthodox porter where its flavours come from its malts not from added ingredient. Pours dark brown close to back, with nearly no head, no lacing and no visible carbonation. Aroma is roasted malts, coffe and cocoa. Taste feels the same, easy peasy. Light bodied, with a pleasant lingering roasted taste, no much carbonation. Easy to drink and to enjoy. Good! Not that impressed with this. Pours black with off-white head. Aromas of anise and some cold coffee. Similar flavours. Thin and a bit watery. No sweetness. Meh. solidfunk (9200) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - DEC 25, 2016
Roast and a little dark chocolate like Truffles. Black pour with good head and lacing. Some caramel. Bittersweet finish. Bottle. ljthiessen (1391) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 9, 2016
Bottle. Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla and slight biscuit notes. Taste is sweet chocolate, subtle vanilla and dark fruit, a little roasty with some bitterness in the finish. Nice standard porter. Brettsky06 (503) - Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 4, 2016
Pours dark brown. Hints of smoke and roasted notes in the aroma. Taste is nicely balanced between coffee and chocolate. Very good porter northropfrye (3654) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 4, 2016
Dark body, off white head. Notes of cocoa, some slight bit of coffee bitterness. Not a bad porter. Okay.
