From a bottle at the RBSG Grand Tasting at The Commons. Poured deep red with white head and pink edges . Nose of cherry and oak. Medium body. Spicy mouth feel. Flavor is cherry and plum, along with some some sour flavors that tantalize. The finish is funk. A most delicious beer.

Bottle @ RBSG 2015. Thanks to Mark, I believe. Blood red in color with sort of a pinkish head. There’s a lot of cherry, currant, and plum aroma to this. Slight spice of cherry pie filling. Hints of cedar, oak, and some pie crust. Flavor is a touch buttery, but otherwise the fruit dominates. Lots of nice tannic fruit skin and a good tang. Sort of spicy and lightly funky. Not bad.

Bottle (650 ml). From Thomas, thanks!

Appearance: Dark purple with a medium quickly fading purple/pink hea and very little lacing.

Aroma: Bright black currants presence with brettanomyces, light spicines, lactic notes and wood.

Taste: Black currants, leathery brettanomyces, light spiciness, oak, hints of vanilla, lactic notes, light sweetness and a touch of alcohol.

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Dry and fruity finish. A tad warming too.

Overall: Damn fine Sour! The black currants are well displayed here even though this isn’t a super complex beer. Alcohol is well hidden, so drinkabily is quite high for this abv.

Boutip (6486) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 12, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep blueish color ale with a light pinkish color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fresh blackberries notes is well balanced against the tart notes of the based beer. Taste is a well balanced mix of tart and funky notes with some fresh raspberries and a hint of residual sugar. Oak and vinous notes are minimal and not overly powerful. Body is quite full with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Another very enjoyable wild ale from Driftwood.

Reimer96 (1743) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours a murky hazy cherry red with a frothy and lacey red head. Aroma of lactabacolis, brett, black currants, cherries, oak and light vanilla. Taste is sour cherries, black currants, brett, lactic, French oak and and nice long bitter puckering finish.

andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours an opaque deep red with a large pinkish-red head with good lace. Aroma is cherry, oak, mild brettanomyces like, sweet dark fruit, strawberries, mildly tart and a touch funky. Flavour is cherry, strawberry, oak, tart, light funk, grapes, touch of brettanomyces like, touch of alcohol and overall a medium acidity.

Very good black fruity tartness. Dark coloured body. Rich aroma. Nice drinkability. Good sour.

Bizarre concoction.
