A reddish copper barleywine with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, extra boozy, light licorice, meaty and musky. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle at Spinrsx tasting. 22oz bottle of 2015 release. Pours a pale brown color with a bit of frothy head. Thick malty flavor. Dank resiny intense hoppiness. Tastes more like a very good triple IPA.

650 mL bottle, marked 11.4%. Lovely copper colour. The head is small, but laces nicely. The aroma is less malty sweet than most, and more hoppy. The hops are fruity. Fruit and berries. There is a hint of booze as well. The hops are there in the flavour as well, and work nicely with the simple malt sweetness. Booze again, for depth. Some black pepper at the end. Arôme de malt caramélisé, alcool, sucre d’orge, résine, carton. Goût d’alcool, malt caramélisé, cassonade, bonne amertume, houblon résineux, carton en fin de bouche et en arrière-goût. 650 ml bottle. Pours a veiled ruby reddish brown with no head. Aroma is red wine, molasses, wood, roast...and something dead. Yeah. Horrible, pungent aroma. Of death, or something.
Flavor is red wine and booze. Loads of dead booze. Wine, carboard, crap loads of vinegar, as well. Full body, weak to completely absent carbonation. Probably was infected. Definitely drain poured.

+ Nice fruity (peaches & nectarines) presence, especially in the aroma
+ The light bitterness helps to cut the sweetness a bit (but unfortunately that isn’t enough)
− It’s sweet and boozy, even 2+ years after bottling
− It doesn’t have much depth or complexity
− It’s slowly starting to show signs of oxidation (cardboard)

2013 vintage bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small+ white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is ot fruits, hops and alcohol. Hops feels surprisingly fresh for a 2+ year brew. Taste is bitter to a medium-high level and fruity again. Caramel. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and alcohol is not that aggressive. Overall I’m pretty sure I would have hated this fresh (I prefer the english type barleywines) but now it’s a juicy, hoppy, mellow sipper.
