What can I say - Scottish/Scotch is my favorite style of beer and this one made by Steve Parkes and team Drop-Off is finally coming to my town in 16oz cans!! In these times of excessive double & imperial IPA profusion, sometimes one needs a malt-dominated drink to break up the monotony, and heres one that will satisfy your taste Bros (love that gag). Could be the Next Big Thing in Vermont discoveries.... even though its the breweries flagship and has been around a while already? I just want more! Ar: Bread crust, red apple, and pineapple; hints of sweet medium caramel and toasty pie crust; slightly herbal. Ap: Deep amber-brown, clear; medium-small light tan head with low-moderate retention, leaving a ring of froth and a mostly covering cap of foam. T: Toasted and bready malt with a firm medium caramel note; red apple esters; doughy and a bit tangy; bitterness is medium-low, but firm and clean; a bit of sweetness, with some black tea flavor; finish is pineapple, red apple, and bread crust. P: Medium body with medium-high carbonation; finish is medium-dry. Can. Pours clear, reddish brown with a heads that’s creamy, light brown, quickly diminishing to a fairly lasting ring and leaves almost no lacing. Aroma of light molasses, heavy caramel, light coffee and toast. Lightly bitter, medium sweet tastes, flavors of caramel, sweet rich candy and malt. Light body, soft and fine carbonation and a lightly bitter, somewhat sweet and sticky finish of long duration. Not sure I’d have it again.

Taste is similar with an initial cherry turning into very sweet chocolate and mild caramel and grape. Much too sweet initially. Very lightly bitter finish. Medium carbonation. Medium body. Squealer from Lisai’s Chester Market. Garnet red clear with lasting small head and nice lace. Mild herbal woody aroma with hint of ripe cherries. Toasted caramel dark cherry sweetness with toasted nuts and woody herbal surprisingly dry finish. Not as rich as expected but nicely quaffable and not watery or anything.
