caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 18, 2013
Bottled, BB 16 07 13, so 2 days past its date, large sample. Clear copper color, medium off-white head. Aroma of german hops, grassy and spicy, dark caramel, hint of sulphur, slight toast, hint of chocolate. Sweet and bitter taste, loads of caramel and toast, like in a good Dunkel. Quite tasty for a Dunkel actually.

McTapps (6899) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JUL 15, 2014
Bottle from Landbierparadies. Pours out in a deep dark brown colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of malt and dust. Taste of malt, dark grains, bread, barley and caramel. Malty finish. Easy drinkable yet nothing special.

Etwas malzig, dazu ein Schuss Schokolade und ein wenig Getreide. Nicht ganz mein Fall, da es ein klein wenig zu sehr in Richtung Malz zieht. Ansonsten einfach solide.

(bottle) pours a clear amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. very interesting aroma of cherries and oak, with a hint of balsamic vinegar and honey-tinged pale malts, almost like an oud bruin. flavour is the same, very fruity, dark berries and mango, with notes caramel, herbal hops and roasted malts. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty, spicy, not too roasty. Mild earthy notes. Finish well balnced. Quite drinkable. Nice!

Bottle. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Caramel malty, corny aroma and taste. Medium body with a light sweet finish.

ganache (5955) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 31, 2012
Swing-top by 28.12.2012. Nose is very sweet toffee, deep ruby pour with a rocky tan head. Taste is relatively dry with red fruit around the edges, caramel and toffee in the middle, just a bit of grit and chocolate to give some heft to the medium body. There’s a mild bitterness that rounds things out.

TimE (5935) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 26, 2009
Deep nose of chestnuts and cherries with just a faint hint of dicytle and faintly fruity. The mouth is much hoppier than the nose suggests. Moderate hoppy start with bitterness hitting everywhere and dominates the palate. Dicytles more present, but not overwhelming. Moderate bitter finish. Interesting.

Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 18, 2009
Bottle @ Landbierparadeis. Rocky head on top of a coppery colored beer. Bready aroma is very malty, with some caramel. the herbal hop overtones are welcome. Great quaffable palate. The flavors are booming breadiness. A good liquid pumpernickel bread crust beer.

thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 22, 2006
Bottle @ Delirium Café, Brussels. Clear red-brown colour with an off-white, lacing head. Nutty aroma. Sweet flavours, some nuttiness, dry finish. Full-bodied, rather soft. Overall a well-made dunkel.
