Sample at 69 Taps in Akron. The beer is a clear pale amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Grainy malt and caramel aroma. Light body with a generic caramel malt and weak hops flavors. The finish is clean and relatively flavorless aside for a vaguely sweet character. Lackluster all around.
10/11/2008: Drunk Monkey has a transparent amber color with a foamy, off-white head. There is a generous level of carbonation. The appereance is the only decent thing about this beer. The aroma and flavor are both grainy, bland, and unexciting. There really isn’t much of anything noteworthy about either one. Regardless of the weak, nondescript, and monotonous characteristics of this beer, it somehow did not sit well with me. I do not recommend even trying this beer unless you just want a rating. For me it was available as the beer of the month for October 2008 at 69 Taps for $2/pint. It is completely not worth it and difficult to put down!
