Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day two, 09/09/17. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is charr, spice, roast malts, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, light fruit esters, cocoa powder, charr, spice, toffee fudge, liqourice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Adequate porter but lacks depth for a 7% job.

On keg at Kill The Cat, Brick Lane, London, UK. It pours dark brown, with a small, brown, creamy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, harsh, roasted malts, smoked. Taste is light to medium sweet. Body is medium, carbonation is flat to fine. Finish has some spicy flavours. Overall better in the finish, but not wonderful.

Tap at Craft Room. Pitch black, ochre-tan creamy heaf, medium, good retention. Chocolate, figs and salty rye bread in the aroma, balancing the sweetness and the dryness quite well. Creamy taste, sweetish, caramel, toffee, rye bread. Light light citric touches. Flawless nearly, simple, drinkable, effective. Excellent porter!

Taste follows the nose, roasted malt and dark chocolate, bit of burnt sugar, very light dark fruits, medium sweetness, medium+ bitterness, quite dry roasted finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit thinish. (on tap, Craft Room, Zagreb)

imdownthepub (15131) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2017
Draught at Andrew Usher & Co., Edinburgh. Black with tan head. Quite a bitter beer initially, dark roasted malts with bittering chocolate and coffee notes, moving towards a sharpness. Fuller on the palate, late licorice. A very decent beer.
