September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Dry & Bitter / La Pirata Black Flag'. Opaque black, slight red hue, foamy light brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate and earth. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is earthy and dry, parma violet background, little rose, slightly salty and spicy. Lives up to the brewery name. (8-4-7-4-16=3.9)

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day juan, 08/09/17. Black with a well appointed tan covering. Nose is charr, roast malt, black peppery spice, bitter fruit rinds. Taste comprises dark chocolate, malt forward, spice, fruit cake. Medium + body, fine carbonation, warming alcohol kiss in the close. Low end for the style for this Bois ... a bit too hot and lacking class.
