Leighton (21513) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2017
Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from THE Kris Wines. Pours mostly clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Nice ripening citrus aroma, with some piney hops, supportive pale malts. Medium sweet flavour with notes of orange, bitter pine, very lightly toasted pale malts, grass, melon, mango. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with a little booze, moderate oily resin, fairly assertive piney-grassy bitterness, understated citrus fruits and pale bread. Solid IPA that leans towards the old school ways.

330ml Bottle: Pours a hazy golden with rocky white head that persists. Lacing. Pine aromas mixed with orange sherbet and a hint of grapefruit. Big flavours of citrus with a serious kick of bitterness. Slight alcohol warmth, which helps smooth the bitterness. Medium to low carbonation, medium to full bodied. Overall a beer that doesn’t disappoint.

Keg at the Euston Tap, East Lodge, 18/07/17. Light golden pour with a decent off white head. Nose is grapefruit, citric tinged straw, melon, orange pith, sweet tones. Taste comprises tangerines, floral bite, light caramel, perfume, soft breads. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with juicy hop bitterness. Ok DIPA but overly sweet for my liking ... drinks below it’s ABV pretty well though.
