Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow-orange pour had a thin white head, aroma brought some grain, biscuit, some slight hay, and yeasty bread, hints of spice and slight grass as well. Taste is grassy earth, hints of yeast and bread, some toasted malts and some grain in there as well, finished fairly clean, slightly bitter.

(sampled at 8th annual Foamfest at the CO state fair 8/27/11). Clear amber color. Medium off white head. Moderate toast/malt aroma. Flavor of the same, with light sweet caramel. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Good lacing.

Tap at the brewery - clear copper - lively pour - seems very much like a lager (an Oktoberfest, to be exact) - a lot of clean, smooth, lightly sweet maltiness - a fair amount of toasted grain flavor - moderate bitterness on the tail end - a little husky in the finish, but otherwise clean and lightly estery - not bad.

On tap @ brewery. Clear yellowish copper with a metallic biscuit malt aroma. Taste was toasty and biscuity with a lot of lager yeast doughiness. Kinda bland overall and too yeasty.

Tap. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, average retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, meal, biscuit), light hops (spicy), and a clean lager character. Flavor is moderate, light hops, and clean lager character. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation with a dry finish.

Growler, shared with Gabe. Pours a medium, light beige head, over a clear, dark amber (SRM 10) body.....nose is light toffee/ caramel, light cereal....taste is light cereal, toffee/caramel, finishing with a light bitterness, and, unfortunately a hint of fusel heat.....mouth feel is on the lighter end, carbonation adds foam. The nose is better than the taste which is quite simple and disappointing. BJCP 7/3/10/4/5

Unfiltered version, wine colour. Served a little cold but it was minus F outside. Rich malting, subtle carbonation. Lacey. Rich malting in aroma. Very good drinkability. A bit above average mouthfeel.

On tap at Dry Dock poured a clear amber with a lingering ivory head. Aromas of carmel, light fruittiness and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel with hints of fruittiness and spice with a smooth malty finish.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2009 On tap at brewery. Looks like iced tea, roasty nose, touch of banana esters on tongue. A little more bitter than other alts Ive had. nice roastiness, as it warms. hints of... apricot, and nice effervescence. Light palate. -- edit: glad I had this one, looks like it just won Gold at GABF 2009!
