Black pour under a thick creamy light beige head. Nose is very smoky and earthy like fresh soil and a bit o burnt wood. Smells like a campfire the morning after. Flavor is a little light but with a full roasty flavor with dark toasted caramel and char. Not a big fan. A bit too watery. Experiment_Ale (1098) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2014
At Dry Dock with Stephen. Pours black with huge creamy head. Aroma is thin nutty roasted malt. Taste is dry chalky, nutty roasty malt. mfrato (110) - - JAN 28, 2013
On tap at the brewery. There really isn’t much to this beer, wish it had more character. arminjewell (9728) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, cocoa powder, nice yeast and bready notes as well, slight spicy hops in there as well. Taste is simple, but nice dark cocoa powder, chocolate, roast, some coffee, hints of spice, slight yeast, finishing fairly sweet but pretty dry. Pretty well done.
