Can. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is clear dark yellow to light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (malt syrup, caramel, cereal, grain). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Yuck...terrible raw malt odor and syrupy sweet. Not even remotely enjoyable in any way.

12 oz. can. Pours clear, copper color, with a small, beige, bubbly head. The nose is butter toffee, allspice, and noble hops. Sweet and malty, with a nice, mellow bitterness. Medium body, creamy, and thick. This is a pretty nice oktoberfest - simple, balanced, and easy. My glass was empty far too fast.

Can. Toasted malt aroma with notes of toffee and caramel malt as well as a bit of hop bitterness. Pours clear copper colored with a thin off white head that has poor retention and a mediocre lacing. Starts with sweet toffee and caramel malt flavors. Finishes a bit dry for a märzen with toasted malt and slightly bitter hop flavors. Nice märzen, though not as sweet as most.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a somewhat hazy straw-amber color with a modest foamy white head that had short retention, modest lacing, and minimal cling. Its aroma featured caramel malt and toffee, with light dark fruits such as raisin, and some light grainy and earthy hops. The taste was lightly sweet with strongest notes of caramel malt, along with toffee, and light bits of grainy bitterness. The body was quite light, thin, and watery with low to average carbonation for easy drinking. A good beer for the season.

12 oz can. New penny copper color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is medium in strength with sweet malts and some lightly spicy noble hops. The taste is malts forward with toffee, minerals, and some light spiciness. The palate is full and crisp. Overall: decent Marzen.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2016 Poured from a chilly 12 ounce can into a stein; aroma: nice, crackled autumn leaves of sweet; color: a dark orange w/a thin off-white head; overall, enjoyable to match the season with.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, toasted malt and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, toasted malt and a hint of fruittiness with a crisp malty finish.

On tap at Dry Dock on 9/24/11, tapping day. Gorgeous clear orange amber with a beautiful fluffy big white head, but it didn’t last too long; settled into an uneven cap. Big malty nose. Toasty biscuit, bready toffee, and pilsner malts. Delightful flavor. Nice tones of toffee and biscuit, with a dry slightly caramel undertone. Balanced with gentle bitterness on the finish. Delightfully smooth and malty, a great Oktoberfest beer. Maybe it’s just me, but it tastes slightly of pretzel as well.

(Draught) Pours a clear copper body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of grain, earth, and mustiness. Flavor of grain, light soap, and nuts.

thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2011
(Draught) rich orange with a ring of white bubbles. Nose of clean grain bill, butter, and cinnamon roll icing. Taste of clean grain, butter, biscuit, yeast. Fine carbonation, light slick body. Good Oktoberfest beer.
