Tap at Falling Rock - borders on an imperial stout, but is authentic enough to satisfy - black pour with a thick tan head - chewy, roasty, medium sweet - intense flavors bittersweet chocolate, espresso, charred malts - some bitterness from the black malt - very mild berry-like fruitiness on the tail end - nice. Fruit and some roast aroma. Black a little rich on the palate strong in alcohol fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a bitter coffee roast finish. That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - JUN 15, 2010
Crushed at BSAF 10. Really enjoyed this one. Great example of the style. Roasty and chewy. Had two or three samples of this one. Excellent. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAY 13, 2010

Boulder Strong Fest at Avery. Black with milk chocolate brown head. Aroma of sweet booze chocolate, roasted malt, light berry fruit esters. Taste is sweet chocolate syrup with roasted background. Slightly oily palate, dry finish. Good but not outstanding, very enjoyable nonetheless.
