Tap. Pours hazy, pale yellow with thick, fizzy white head; short retention and decent lacing. Aroma is bananas, herbs, straw malt, lemon, faint grassy hops, and biscuit malt. Flavor is malt forward with good supporting citrus esters and minimal hops; dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and low warmth. Cwrw42 (51) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2012
A good example of the style, my sample (bomber) was cloudy and had enough colour to it to suggest the presence of a little dark munich or crystal malt. He nose had the expected and desired banana and clove characters indicating that a true bavarian yeast was used. Mouth feel was appropriate, bready yet refreshing with a nice malt balance. Eminantly drinkable, easily passes the four pint test and one I will come back to.
Great summer beer - would pair well with grilled fish, seafood and salads.

Bottle from Scott - thanks! Clear, slightly glowing yellow pour with some haze and a large and frothy white head. Aroma is banana, clove, clean wheat, and a bit of underlying spice. Taste is clean banana/clove up front followed by light wheat and some spice (pepper? no. something else) into the finish. Light and spritzy mouthfeel. Nice hefe. ads135 (4587) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - APR 22, 2012
Better than average hefe. Typical hefe, but less watery. Has hints of banana, spices, and, of course, wheat. Tried at the brewery on my way to New Mexico. MrRomero (1976) - Nolanville, USA - MAR 18, 2012
22oz bottle: poured a hazy banana yellow with a little white head and moderately streaming carbonation. Mild yeasty aroma and banana esters. Nice aroma. Mild banana notes with a bit of cloves in the flavor. Slightly watery finish. Decent.

Hazed yellow pour with fluffy white head and lace. Clove, banana, and paper aroma. Banana and clove dominate the flavor. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Decent beer for the style. 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 12, 2012
tap at Kitchen Next Door. flowery, forward nose of strong fresh banana perfume esters, slightly waxy with a dried flower / potpourri character. light body, thin and a bit watery, but well-balanced for down near 4% alcohol. moderate honey and wheat sweetness. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 18, 2011
on tap-pours a white head with yellow color. Aroma is sweet ripe banana. Taste is sweet ripe banana, secondary wheat/light malt, some spice hops. Soft effervescence. Redpointed (69) - Colorado, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Looks quite nice, pours with a good head. Aroma is pungent for a hefeweizen, quite a bit of character. Taste is very pleasant, with some yeast adding a citrus tang. Quite a long finish also. honcho (2) - indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 26, 2011 does not count
Aroma- Huge banana maltiness dominates. It just has this very nice balanced aroma reminiscent of banana bread.
Appearance- Nice light gold color with translucent like cloudiness once the yeast was roused from the bottle. Great lacing on the pint glass as the beer was consumed.
Taste- Balanced and very similar to the aroma. Bready malty banana goodness with just barely enough hops to balance.
Palate- Very easy-drinking and refreshing. As it warms up, more bready banana comes out.
Overall- Excellent example of the style. Great balance of banana esters and maltiness with just barely enough hops to give balance. Great beer for doing anything in the summer.
