On tap at the Bull and Bush in august 2011 during their 40th Anniversary celebration month. Very dark ruby, clear around the edges, almost brownish. So dark, but so ruby! Not much head. Deep cherry aroma, some Belgianesque fruity earthy malt as well...but with an emphasis on cherry. Sweet and fruity nose without being tart. Flavor was intense, but a bit sloppy. The cherries from the nose are back, but not in a sweet way, just kind of "there". It’s not boozy, but there is a warmth at the finish. Fruity Belgian yeast, dirty malt, holiday spice, more yeast, more malt, more booze...nothin really stood out. It’s just a strong christmas ale.
