Tap. Pours lightly hazy orange with a large, foamy off-white head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is fruity, citrus and pine hops with tropical fruity esters, spicy rye malt. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, tropical fruity esters, supporting sweet malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 27, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange-yellow pour with white head, aroma has notes of nice dank pine, grapefruit peel, spicy rye is a bit restrained but manifests as some lemon and other yeasty notes, hints of earth, touch of orange in there as well. Taste is a mix of white fruit, some peach, orange, grapefruit, touch of earth, slight spicy and lemony rye notes, finishing fairly bitter, dry. Nicely done. notalush (5866) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 26, 2012
Tap at dry dock - turbid straw color - soapy, lasting head - nose of pungent hops, spicy and lightly sour rye, zesty citrus - soft carbonation - fairly creamy in the mouth - flavor is intensely bitter, with peppery hops and spicy rye, but there is a moderate sweetness and a bready malt character that cuts the bitterness nicely - another solid IPA from dry dock - they’ve been doing well with these the past year. onceblind (9399) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Slightly cloudy dark gold with a thin foamy white head that leaves loads of lace down the sides of the glass. Aroma of earthy spicy rye, grapefruit rind, and a nice citrusy caramelly sweetness. Flavor is nice and hoppy with pine and grapefruit notes, a touch of resinous lupulin, spicy earthy rye, and a firm caramel/cereal grain sweetness backbone. Nice and smooth, very balanced with moderate bitterness and lots of hop flavor.
