Tap at the Rackhouse - hazy orange pour - medium dry, with crisp and spicy notes of gingerbread, pepper, crackery malt - a bit of sweetness through the middle, mixed with light bubblegum and banana phenols - a touch of tropical character - a bit of dusty, earthy yeast - spicy finish - a lot going on, but at times a bit muddled - a decent brew. Tap. Pours hazy orange with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is banana, Belgian yeast, straw and biscuit malt, spices, earthy hops, cellar and barnyard notes. Flavor is Belgian yeast esters, medium malt, light hops and bitterness, spices, and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation. drjay44 (3679) - Salida, Colorado, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Growler. Shared with Gabe. Pours a thin white head, over a slightly cloudy orange gold (SRM 6) body.........nose is light fruits, including pear, apple, bit of honey, touch of citrus...taste is light fruits, pear, apple, apple peel, finishing with a bit of honey, pepper.....mouth feel light, carbonation low. This is a light take on a Saison. It meets all of the qualia, but is light in all. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7 onceblind (9418) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 6, 2011
lightly hazy light gold, thin and frothy and laceful head. Nice pale malt aroma of chewy cereal grains, some banana, a bit of clove. Taste is much more assertive and complex. Bold pale malts, some yeasty funkiness, light fruitiness and some banana...a lot going on, but it just feels unrefined. Yeasty funky esters kinda keep the flavor from shining.
