UPDATED: JUN 28, 2017 Tap at brewery in Chicago during glbtq. Cola black with off white head. Roasty nose. Creamy, soft, mild roast taste, good sweetness, chocolate. Once again coconut pairs well with this style. Pleasant to drink. Atom (2535) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 15, 2015
On tap at dry hop, pours a dark brown/black with a medium khaki head. Aroma of chocolate, light coconut, and a mild roast. Taste of smooth silky milk chocolate, coconut milk and cinnamon, with a milk roast. Nice! boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUN 29, 2014

Sampled at the source as part if the flight... Pours a darker than cola black, auburn edges, and topped with a creamy light beige head... Notes namely of roasted grain and chocolate of course. Reaching for coconut and it surfaces but isn’t too assertive... Mild roast and chocolate notes with additional notes of toasted coconut albeit mild. Smooth lighter bodied and easy to drink. Could have enjoyed more coconut. But pretty nice nonetheless. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Flight on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). First visit opening week. Pours a nice darker blackish brown hue, more brown, firmly hazed body with glowing brownish copper edges and bottom. A frothy offwhite tannish head stays as a decent layer, dies down and laces small. Aromas offer coconut, gentle roast, caramel and cocoa. Some toffee, toastiness, good coconut presence hits the nostrils, flare and moves into that sweeter stout feel. Pleasant, coconut obviously the focus. Initial is medium bodied, a bit fizzy and dry up front, mellow roast and toast, some sweetness, caramel and firm coconut presence comes in as we get past the initial assault. Middle is a bit more silky and sweet, firm chocolate presence meets coconut. Toffee, toast, not thick or overwhelming, but a big cocoa, sweeter end, presence comes in here and melds with the coconut. Backend shows some roast, a bit more acrid as the beer starts to lose me. Doesn’t really flow well into that element. Still, lingering sweetness and toast, roasty almost acrid feel, perhaps some old coffee or grain, with silky sweet coconut and chocolate combo linger on. A bit underbodied and that strike into the roasty acrid backend is a bit weird/sloppy for me. Solid beer, a bit of fine tuning can fix that. Will revisit as the nose and middle on this are pretty nice and as I said, it’s solid as is. kaser (6364) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 15, 2013
Had this on draft at DryHop opening day and drank a growler of it. This was a favorite of all of their first 6 beers. Light black pour, delicious coconut and milk taste but holds to what you expect in a stout as well. A couple people that didn't normally like stouts loved this too.
