SylvainCFC (300) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2017

Bottled 750ml (Etre-Gourmet)
Dark brown colour, good brownish head. Lots of cocoa in the nose, also notes of tobacco ash and vanilla. Medium-bodied. Flavour has lots of cocoa and vanilla, sweetish. Light bitterness in the finish. Too much vanilla and too little body for 8 %.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and hops.

Appearance:
Opaque dark brown/black beer with heavy yeast and with a medium/large brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and hops.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. This is normal for its style however, so no hard feelings. Feels like a mix of a dry stout and a sweet stout, with a higher abv than usual as well. Perfect appearance and a great palate as well, but the aroma could have been stronger.

Dark brown, large head. Deep chocolate ganache, double cream, fresh wood, deep brown toast and cane sugar. Foamy mouthfeel, a bit too much, but still nice palate. Nice to drink! (75cl bottle from Être Gourmet)

Zwart bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: koffie, chocolade, kalisse, korst van goed gebakken brood. Smaak: zoet, geroosterde mout, karamel, licht bitter, koffie. Medium volmondig. Weinig koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: bitter, koffie. Njam!

26/XI/16 - on tap @ Vini Birre Ribelli (Brussels) - BB: n/a (2016-1400) Thanks to sebletitje and 77ships for sharing today’s beers!

Little cloudy dark brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, cow fodder, hay, grassy, some marijuana, chocolate, dried fruits, raisins. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, lots of vanilla, very roasted, dried fruits, lots of dry bitter hops, bit metallic. Aftertaste: more roasted flavours, coffee, metallic, very very bitter, medicinal, unpleasant in the end.

3.5
sebletitje (10207) - Enghien, BELGIUM - NOV 28, 2016
Draft sample @ Vini Birre Ribelli ’16.
