JoeinDahlem (1560) - Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 2, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2017 Appropriately rustic, yeasty and tangy with floral hop character,, bitter and with a reassuring lack of polish. Yeast is a bit heavy and could be a touch drier but I’m picking nits there.

Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Bottle share at Cotters. Thanks! As ’Du Brabant Origame 6 Saison Du Brabant (Baisy-Thy)’. Hazy orange, vibrant, foamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is sherbet, Starburst sweets, elderflower, brett. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is dry and pretty chalky, bretty, white sugar, flint. Bit of a disconnect between the fruity aroma and more dry, minerally taste. I like it but I’m sure there’ll be people who won’t like the flinty taste. (8-4-6-4-16=3.8)

Another beer I tried at the 3rd Cotteridge Tasting on 20th May 2017. Misty yellow body, off-white head. Citrus notes fill the nose, followed by a yeasty, farmyard aroma. Taste is also lemon forward with other sweeter citrus flavours arriving with the yeasty farmyard bits mentioned in the aromas.

Bottle at Cotteridge Convention 2017. it pours cloudy golden with a medium white head. The aroma is quite fresh, soft, sweet, pine, lemon sherbet, orange, kumquat, apple and melon. The taste is dry, grassy bitterness, straw, barnyard, Granny Smith apple, pear, melon, spice and some herbal undertones. Finish is pretty dry. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting but I don’t care for the sweet pear and melon notes.

Bottle, bought@Etre Gourmet. Pours coppery clear golden with a large, frothy white head that stays. Aroma has sweet malts, crisp, some orange peel, esters, fresh grassy hops, light peppery. Medium to high carbonation, fine dry and fairly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has crisp malts, firm sweetness, very floral, grapefruit, fresh cut grass. Solid bitterness. Nice.
