From bottle I think. Pours black with nice beige head. Pretty standard Imperial stout, with classic roasted malt and some sweetness. Not bad. Would certainly drink again with ink and paper.

A fluffy, well laced tan head on a classic near black body. The nose is slightly unusual for an IS, with notes of grass, chocolate and sweet, candied fruit. The taste profile follows the elements in the aroma, with ripe fruit, grassy and citrus hops, chocolate, dark berries, brown sugar and toffee, and a nice balancing venous note. The body is only medium in texture. This one leans towards an imperial black IPA, and that is not a bad thing.

(Rating #4643)

pours almost black with a nice creamy beige head, some retention and lacing. dark roastiness, some sweetness and almost burnt malts, some toffeed caramel, soy and licorice. average to soft carbonation, medium body - oily, warming alcohol, decent resinous-grassy finish. a little more than decent impy.
