A black beer with a light brown head. It has a slight aroma of smoke. The flavor is dominated by smoked malt with a good stout"y bitterness - but the flavor vanishes fast. An OK stout - but it doesn"t have enough taste to be really great. I can"t taste the moss. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 28, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Irish stout is much more than just Guinness. Pitch black - of course - and brewed with the rather unusual ingredient: Irish moss! Three types of barley and - surprise - wheat. Dry and bitter as stout is supposed to be. But also with somewhat refined notes, something slightly perfumy and pleasant. 141200 fiulijn (20515) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 2, 2005
Black color. Solid and balanced Stout, with good notes of malt, roasted malt and coffee. Quite high bitterness. Oakes (17684) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 29, 2000
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2010 To be fair - if I could re-rate this today, I doubt that a 4.7 would the outcome. But once upon a time I loved it. MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 22, 2004
Almost black with a brown head. Aroma of fruit, winegum and liquorice. The taste is dominated by liquorice. Nice one.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteuised. Black beer with tan head. Fruity, quite sweetish stout with a roasted nut flavour intermingled. There is a boiled sweet note in the background. The texture is quite sludgy and thick. Bitterish finish. thewolf (12597) - Kolding, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2006
Pours utter black with beige staying head with yellow tint. Aroma is roasted with coffee and some fruit. A bit thin moouthfeel for the type. Flavours include roasted maltyness - quite a lot of flowery bitterness and chocolate/coffe tones. Sammy (12205) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 6, 2004
Very good dark brown and foamy appearance and head. Bitter chocolate, roasted malt, lquorice, smoke. Pure style. Not your everday American or even UK stout. A bitter but well worth trying. Hard to get, so thank you crockett for sharing. madsberg (11770) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2003
