2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Inoffensive South American lager. Light and bubbly with little character or anything else to set it apart from any other beer. Refreshing and light for hot days and nights in the south of Bolivia.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Quantum Of Solace motivated me to drink this beer. Not bad, but not good either. Nasty bitter aftertaste, and some metal were what I tasted. Not going to have this again, thats for sure

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Crystal clear yellow coloured body with a light white head and tons of bubbles that rise from the bottom. Aroma of metal, fruits and blood. Light to Medium-bodied; Tastes of malt, wheat and metal dominate the taste. Aftertaste is very bitter, showing pale malt and very little else. Overall, not pleasant at all, but yet another Bolivian beer to sample. This is the first time I saw this beer, on the last day of the trip. I sampled this 250 cm3 bottle purchased at a Supermercado on Monsenor Rivero (road) in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on 17 August 2006.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Weak straw colour. Weak maltish aroma. The flavou is quite weak but the maltiness is there. Average aftertaste with a touch of bitterness. Ducal Pilsener is the local beer of Santa Cruz and has more than 30% of the beer market in the Santa Cruz region.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Santa Cruz’s beer, and the last new beer for me to try in Bolivia. Pours like ginger ale, yellow with tons of bubbles, rising, and stuck on glass. Head is big, uneven, and foamy white. Aroma is big, strong for 5%, packing lots of malt, corn and rice. Taste actually begins remniscent of ginger ale, sweet, then some apple and banana malts, along with tons of burpy carbonation (read soda water), white grapes, and sweetness rounding out the unexciting palate. Tropically distinguishable from the rest of Bolivian beers, but not great by any means. Think of a malted ginger ale with a little alcohol. Sampled from a 8oz small bottle purchased from a grocery in steamy, palm covered, Santa Cruz.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2004 "Twist off" top. Pale yellow colour with an "unclean" appearance. Unpleasant hay-like aroma, bland flavour, and a weakly bitter finish. Certainly not my favourite Bolivian beer (yes, I have tried others!). Local price: 4,20.

Passable, reasonably dry and clean, you can’t really taste the adjuncts, but then again, you can’t taste much at all.
