Bottle from Waitrose. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - malt bag with a touch of lemon. Taste - dry biscuit and some lemon but biscuits dominant. Palate - light bodied with a dry crunchy middle section. Slightly astringent finish. Overall - a touch challenging.

Grumbo (3974) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2017
Bottle from Waitrose, Bishops Stortford. Pours pale amber with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma of corn, grass, hop, syrup, light citrus and caramel. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.

BeerViking (5042) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 31, 2017
Light amber with a fast-settling head, light butterscotch and lemon on the nose, body is bitter-dry with faint malt, and a bit one-dimensional.

ManVsBeer (10946) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2017
Bottle from Waitrose, Manchester Piccadilly Station. Clear pale ale with a small head. Full-bodied in its style with a light dryness and bittering hops that produce a light to medium bitterness.

Bottled, 500ml *** Colour: Deep clear amber; big, creamy off-white head. *** Nose: Biscuit caramel, orange peel. Floral hops. *** Mouthfeel: Medium body, hardly watery. Soft carbonation. *** Taste: Musty orange, biscuity malts, dry floral hops ast the start. Maltier still in the middle, mixed with generic hop bitterness. More explicitly bitter and dry in the finish, medium-long malty aftertaste with a mild lemon note. *** Impressions: This certainly isn’t an IPA,. but a premium bitter. As such, it’s not bad, especially the strong finish impresses. A little lacking in body and depth though. Decent ESB, rather generic.

Mjp12 (2031) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2016
A beer that doesn’t seem to know what it is! A malty aroma, and the sweet caramel malt taste of an ESB, but doesn’t have the complexity of a good one. The finish is lightly hopped, with a slight bubblegum twang at the end .

SilkTork (5854) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2016
500ml brown bottle, filtered, from Waitrose. A reasonably pleasant and slightly demerera sweet premium bitter. The hops are quite subdued, mainly coming through late in the finish as a mild nettle flavour and tingle. It is mainly the malt that is noticed. Feels lower than 5.2%. I wouldn’t kick it out of bed.

Piw (1250) - Rüsselsheim, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2016
500ml Flasche. Klar und dunkelgolden. Minimale Schaumkrone. Leicht muffig. Wenig aromatisch. Leichter Körper. Dezente Bitternoten.
