3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a translucent reddish brown with a decent off-white head, which diminishes not too quickly, but is far from long lasting. The flavour is SURPRISINGLY well balanced for an ESB. Very nice touch of hops, but aside from that the fruitiness is very prevalent, and a very nice dry finish! Very well brewed.
Bottle picked up at Party Source from notes. Pours a hazy amber/copper color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, crackers, grass, light herbal notes, just not much to get excited about. slowrunner77 (11938) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAY 8, 2015
i think this might be decent as a pub ale, served warm via cask, but thousand of miles from it’s source, bottled, it just didn’t do it for me. All the boringness of a typical low abv English beer with few of the highlights. fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - APR 17, 2014
Geruch fruchtig malzig, leicht hefig, hopfig. Geschmack hopfig malzig, fruchtig, leicht hefig. jmohno (1612) - Iowa, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Hazy reddish brown. No head, low carb.
Aroma seemed malty and rich and carmally at first giving the impression this was going to be stronger but was short lived and turned to Soy sauce. Smooth slickish, flat, watery, dull taste, has some butterscothch and carmel which makes it better.Seems stale/old. Flat and watery is not a good combo, probably poorly stored as well. Not shure how old this is either.

I have it under the other name and label:Duchy Organic Old ruby ale "Plumage Archer" 1905. Some earthey bitterness on a bit of an aggresive side, some like jamy fruityness with mabye a bit sour. Kinda hard to discribe what I taste but this is just the old ruby ale 1905 with the plumage archer barley and dwarf hop that is supposably not int that version and I had it yrs ago cheers Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 14, 2013
Usual bitter aroma of fruity caramel. Murky orange tan look to it. Flavor is nutty caramel and a bit of non-bitter citrus. Creamy body that’s on the thin side. Pretty average stuff, probably better from a cask. vadie (1256) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 27, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2013 Ambrée, une petite mousse et de carbonation moyenne. Malté et légérement amer. Une bonne bière corsé et terreux.
