(On tap in Stralsund, 2014). Sweet aroma of malt, caramel and spices. Surprisingly fresh and hoppy taste despite the also prominent malty sweetness in the taste. Also flavors of brown sugar and grassy hops. Nice dry bitterness in the finish. The best Altbier I have tasted so far.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2018 Aroma of wood, bread, herbs, caramel. Medium sweetness and bitterness, sweetish but fairly dry, very drinkable. A bit sticky.

Impression upon the first sip is of a pilsner-type hop-dominated beer with limited complexity until wood-flavors penetrate through the bitterness, lingering for a long time. Smell is compex and unusually diverse for a beer, floral and chocolate. Not very full-bodied, but refreshingly different.

hvedelover (11) - Glamsbjerg, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2018

Bottle. Amber colour, clear, rocky head that disappears after a while without any trace, no lacing at all. Aroma is caramel, a little bit of nuts and herbal hops - gets better when you allow the beer to warm up. Light bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Has some similarity to lightly hopped English bitters. Not very complex, but easy to drink.

It's ok, a bit metallic in the taste. Mostly caramel and light medium bitterness, easy and drinkable.

On tap at (somewhere in Essen). Comes with a reddish-copper color and a nice off-white head. Sweet and malty nose, some sugar and slightly some red fruits, caramel. Taste is malty and grainy with a sweet-malty finish. Not too bad.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 Bottle. Dark amber, clear color. White, short head. Aromatic, red fruits, bittersweet, dry finish. Enjoyable.
