Tap @ Bowie. Cloudy amber-yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is banana and a little wheat thrown in. Banana dominates the taste. Some spices and wheat are also evident, but the banana is over-poweringly dominant. Not bad, but not really my cup of tea. themadmumis (347) - Westminster, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2006
Not a big fan of Hefe’s and especially not bananas (allergic). Since I can’t say anything good about this brew, I’ll stop while I’m ahead. This was one of the first ’diverse’ brews I had when I began delving into other offerings besides Macros. Good thing this was part of the DuClaw sampler, so I could enjoy other fabulous beers. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 29, 2005
Clear lemon yellow body with a white head that was gone by the time it reached my table. Aroma is medium sweet, banana, clove, some wheat. Taste is medium sweet, banana, clove, other spice, some wheat. Watery light body, some crispness. A solid take on a Hefe. shameusburp (171) - Virginia, USA - JUN 27, 2005
Old Dominion Brewfest 2005, not a big Hefey fan. Good hefe example. Wish it had some hops to it. murawski (160) - USA - JUN 19, 2005
Very good unfiltered seasonal wheat beer. I had it from a growler fresh from the brewery (Anne Arundel, Md.). Hints of fruit (I’m not so sure about the banana, though) and just enough spice to make the flavor more interesting than your average Hefeweizen.

Interesting attempt, but I’m not sure it is true to the style. Very murky with yeast and just a touch of oiliness (?) on the tongue. Too much fruit! jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - SEP 12, 2004
On tap at Camden Yards. Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is of banana and clove. Taste is pretty malty with more banana, clove, yeast and spicyness. Goes down smooth. Mouthfeel is full and round. Not my favorite style but a solid brew, especially at a ball game. HighGravity (926) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 7, 2004
Good tasty sotuh German Wheat beer. Taste like Weeping Radish. Very good for hot days and nights.. Quetzalcoatl (153) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 29, 2004
Hazy yellow, light refreshing taste. The yeast and wheat come through, with a bit more spice & sweetness than in most Hefes. Firefaery (19) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 25, 2004
A very different beer. Not exactly one of my favorites at DuClaw, but then again I am a sweet stout kind of drinker. 13 Degrees was interesting to try and a good brew. A cloudy gloden brew with a strange fruity taste. Almost citrusy, but not quite. I guess it is the hints of clove that throw your palate off thinking it is a citrus flavor and the hints of banana give that strange fruit flavor you cannot quite pinpoint. A must try for your tongue to discover one of the flavors that beer can provide.
