bottled - dark orange to light brown in color. Spiced pumpkin aroma and flavor. Not bad. LetsGoState (910) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 10, 2016
Aroma is a little bit of pumpkin. Taste is a touch of spices. Overall just not strong enough flavors. superspak (6015) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2016
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 7/27/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a small dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, light chocolate, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, light chocolate, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal hop and spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.7%. Overall this is a very nice spiced Munich dunkel lager style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. A bit more bitter/drying than the classic style due to the spice presence; but very well balanced and spot on otherwise. A very enjoyable offering. jflopsu (1804) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 15, 2016
Pours a clear rust orange. A faint sweet malt and cinnamon aroma. A sweet malt taste with spices, cinnamon and pumpkin spice. Lingering spice aftertaste. bubblehouse (1556) - louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 7, 2016
Way to spiced to be enjoyable. Has a really nasty aftertaste. I could drink it but with so many better pumpkin beers why would i.
chinchill (5319) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 16, 2016
12 oz bottle served in a snifter. 5.7% ABV listed on label.
Clear copper body with a good head.
Start as a lightly spiced amber lager but cinnamon and nutmeg build to a spicy finish. Still not over spiced as are so many pumpkin beers.
Medium body and carbonation. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Nice amber body with big head. Nose is spicy, cinnamon. Taste is also spicy and malty. Okay. kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is rather heavy on the cinnamon and nutmeg, aloge with a fairly sweet Munich maltiness. The flavor is pretty well dominates completely by the spice, save for a slight sweetness on the finish. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, perhaps a little clove. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation and some slight clinginess on the back end. Meh, not so thrilled with this one, but a single bottle is doable. cheap (6089) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2015
Tap mad mex. When I saw dunkel, was hoping for just that. This is different fer sure. Pillowy rocky head. Brownish beer. Metallic aroma. Some metal carries over to the taste. Pretty strong for a beer called dunkel. Almost medicinal. Yes, spices override anything dunkel in here. Larry_Duffman (600) - - NOV 10, 2015
I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a nice red and amber color with a nice white head and lacing. The aroma is pumpkin pie with the usual spice and biscuit for the style. The taste is light pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and biscuit. It is pretty smooth. This was a good pumpkin beer.
